Just over a year ago, Remi Roure joined the allinsure team as the first participant in our Insurance Graduate Program. With no previous background in insurance, but a strong interest in business, he dove into a year of hands on-learning and industry exposure.
We sat down with Remi to reflect on his experience over the past 12 months.
Why Insurance?
“I honestly just wanted to try something new after uni,” Remi says. “I didn’t know much about commercial insurance at the time, but I’ve always had an interest in business and related fields.”
Starting a new career in an unfamiliar industry might sound daunting, but for Remi, that was part of the appeal.
“Trying something new and unknown was exciting, and I had no idea what to expect. I was nervous about meeting everyone, but the team was so welcoming and kind”.
What he learned.
Remi gained experience across business administration, client services, insurance broking and advice, developing a toolkit of valuable skills for the future.
“The skills I learned will help me not just in insurance, but across the corporate world,” he says.
“Some of the most valuable were relationship building with insurers and clients, managing accounts, Office 365 skills and understanding how to liaise with both clients and underwriters.”
Highlights from the year.
Remi’s year was packed with opportunities to learn, network and celebrate with the team. A few of standout moments included:
- Spending a week with our insurer partner 360 Underwriting, where he learned about the underwriting process and built great industry relationships.
- Attending Professional Development Days with the team and the wider Insurance Advisernet Network.
- Getting involved in allinsure events including EOFY and Christmas Celebrations, the Festival of Speed and Chamberlain Foundation Lunch.
- Meeting and building relationships with multiple insurers and underwriters, going through case studies and learning about their products and services.
One of Remi’s key highlights was having the opportunity to work with such a wide range of clients and industries throughout the year. “It’s always interesting to see how different businesses operate and to better understand the unique risks they face. No two clients are the same, and that always keeps things fresh.”

Insights from the insurer side.
As part of the program, Remi spent a week with 360 Underwriting where he had the unique opportunity to meet and work with multiple teams across their business.
His time with 360 Underwriting gave him an invaluable perspective on how insurers think.
“Learning what underwriters base their risk appetite on really helped,” he says. “It provided a great opportunity to learn exactly what insurers are looking for when we present them with a risk, and who to contact for specific opportunities.”
Advice for future grads.
Now that he’s wrapped up the program and transitioned into a full-time Assistant Account Executive role, Remi encourages others to consider a career in insurance.
“It’s very engaging – there’s always something new to learn and nothing ever feels boring. If you’re open to growing and are surrounded by a supportive team, it’s a really rewarding path.”
We’re incredibly proud of everything Remi has achieved in his first year, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for him. His journey is a great example of where curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to learn can lead.
